Moist, brandied, rich fruit cake, full of fruit which has been matured to allow a deep richness of flavour to develop.

What the Great Taste Award judges said:

"There is plenty of plump fruit in this cake, which slices and portions very well. The levels of flavour finish beautifully with the brandy. It takes you straight to Christmas! All the fruit is bursting with juicy flavour and the level of spice is spot on. One judge really loved it and that judge doesn't usually like fruit cake!"

"This traditional looking cake is full of fruit and nicely dark in colour. The aroma is slightly alcoholic and the texture richly moist. The flavour is deep and, together with the texture, is tending towards an 'adult only' cake, full of dark places where the flavour reigns."
